Women Of Vision

In this extraordinary, true story, Beatrice Johns explores the histories of Dr. Katherine Berry Richardson and Dr. Alice Berry Graham. In the late 1800's, at a time when women rarely became doctors, these two amazing sisters founded Mercy Hospital for Children in Kansas City, Missouri, and later, Wheatley-Provident Hospital for black children, both free hospitals for children whose parents couldn't otherwise afford their medical care. Women of Vision recounts the struggles and triumphs of Doctors Richardson and Graham as they fought to keep their hospitals free and open to help sick children across the country. Their courage and farsightedness paved the way for all women to move ahead in the professional world and to stand up for their beliefs.

In the second part of Women of Vision, entitled "Try a Greener Day: My Series of Stays," Beatrice Johns tells of her own experiences as a child in the 1920's, when she was a patient at Mercy Hospital for months at a time and actually met Dr. Richardson. This story, which started for Bea about 75 years ago, culminates in this volume, written in gratitude and in deep appreciation for the great doctors and the hospital that saved her life. soft cover, 160 pages, 8.5" x 5.5". ISBN: 0-9724257-2-1.

The Bridge Journal

Imagine this...a family member dies and you are given the task of going through her things. Hidden at the bottom of an old box is a book. As you begin to read it, you realize it is a journal—a collection of hopes and realities from the life of someone now gone, quieted forever. But through her words, you grow to know her, and she remains alive. Her journal becomes a bridge between her and all future generations.

You can’t change the past; you can’t make a journal appear from your great-great-
grandmother. But you can create one that your great-great-grandchildren will treasure. What’s more, you will enjoy reading it yourself, sooner than you think. You change from moment to moment, and a year from now you will be surprised by your emotions as you wrote those words. A journal will bridge not only you with future generations, but also you with your future self.

Is it an accident that the words “journal” and “journey” are so alike? Of course not. A journal is a journey—to the future—to the past—and it acts as a bridge on a journey of discovery.

A perfect way to journal your thoughts, hopes, and dreams to your great-great-great grandson or daughter. Tell them what they mean to you.

The Bridge Journal is customizable with your name gold embossed on the cover and your initials on every page.

It's a great gift for Christmas, Mother's Day, Father's Day, birthdays, or any day. Give one to your Mother, Father, Sister, and Brother. What better way to tell them how much they mean to you than to give them a little immortality.

Time travel to the future and let your descendents travel back to the past to meet you.
